Mission Style Craftsman Cabinetry

Looking to break with modern and go with a more historical style? Craftsman styles were popular between 1900 and 1929 and have proved to be quite timeless. Mission style, craftsman furniture designs are still made and sold 100 years later after they were first introduced in the early 1900’s. Some of the most well known mission style, craftsman designs were produced in the shop of Gustav Stickley.

Stickly’s mission designs used quarter-sawn white oak exclusively and were fumed with ammonia that would react with the natural tannins in the oak to turn it a rich brown color. We try to recreate the designs of Gustav Stickley in our mission style, craftsman cabinets and use modern wood dyes on quarter-sawn white oak to achieve the historic colors brought out in Gustav Stickley’s original ammonia fuming process.
